Anise Swallowtail + Cow Parsnip Kitchen Towel
Anise Swallowtail + Cow Parsnip Kitchen Towel
TThe Anise Swallowtail (Papilio zelicaon) is a common butterfly found in Western North America. They feed on various species of plants in the apiaceae (parsley + carrot) family, and many people associate them with Fennel. Although they have adapted to the non-native fennel now found in their range, I chose to pair them with Cow Parsnip (Heracleum maximum), the only member of the carrot family native to California.
